Debugging TDRs 23 Apr 2012 - 20:53
Hi all,

I have a situation here..

Im trying to debug a TDR, i do generate the TDR on purpose & its a Remote Debugging by the way.

I can setup everything with no problem, the thing is that i want to verify if the driver resets in a good-know way after the TDR is presented.

When i generate the TDR with no Windbg connected, i can see the whole proccess going on, and when it is supposed to restart, some corruption is seen (this is the issue i want to debug.)

The problem im getting is that when i want to recreate the TDR with Windbg connected in kernel debug mode, it gives me a Fatal System Error msg because of the TDR and it hangs in there, is like windgb is not letting do the whole proccess of restarting the driver.

Is there any way i can skip this situation?, so the TDR proccess can happen,

I been getting the following print msg:

Break instruction exception - code 80000003 (first chance)

A fatal system error has occurred.

so i been trying to "sxi 80000003", and it doesnt show me the fatal system error anymore, but still hangs the PC.

Thank you in advance.
Larry
